How to format a disk partition

How to format a disk partition

My Computer
To format a certain partition in Windows, or to change its file system (from FAT32 in NTFS), you will need to follow the next steps. You won’t need any additional applications.

  1. Open My computer
  2. Right click on the partition you wish to format and click on Format (see the image below).

  3. Now choose the file system (1 on the image below) and click on Start (2 on the image below).
    Attention: Once you click Start, all the files on that partition will be deleted.

The C partition cannot be formatted through this method because on it runs your operating system, including all applications.
