Make your hard drive faster

To activate the memory cache of your SATA hard disk, you will need to follow the next instructions.

Attention! If you do not have an UPS unit or if your computer it’s not a laptop with its own battery, and the power shuts down, you may loose the data in your cache. If the power is stable, then this is a nice setting for you.

You will make your hard drive work 30% faster.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista

Open up Control Panel and then double click on System. On the Hardware tab click on Device Manager.

Now open the Disk Drives menu (1 on the image below) and select your hard drive (there may be other drives, USB, memory cards, etc.)

On the Policies tab check the Enable write catching on the device (2 on the image below). The click on OK.
