Downloading unknown files to your computer, can be very harmful. Avoid downloading files from sites that are not trustworthy, because they may have viruses.
Instructions
- Follow the link that will get you to the needed file.
- Click on the download link (it can be a link with the name of the file or a Download button).
- Choose the language and your operating system (in case it’s mentioned).
- Choose a mirror (a site from where to download the file) as closest geographically as possible (if you are given the choice). Now a new window will appear on the screen that will ask you if you want to open or save the file on your hard disk.
- Choose to save the file if you want to use the file more than once. Otherwise choose to open the file.
- If you have selected to save the file, then choose a location on your hard disk. Now you will be able to see the remaining time for the download.
Attention
- most browsers will allow you multiple download instances.
- downloading multiple files will slow the download speed for each of them, because the total speed is divided to each of the files.
- you can continue browsing while the download finishes.
- most files are archived (.zip or .rar files). You will need a special program to un-archive them.
