Not really. It’s much easier to just restart Windows Explorer and not your computer.
Here’s how you can do it:
- Press Ctrl+Shift+Escape to open Task Manager.
- Click on the Processes tab and press the E key on your keyboard and then select explorer.exe (1 on the image below).
- Now click on End Process (2 on the image below) and click again End Process in the new window (3 on the image below).
- Now, to restart Windows Explorer go to the File menu in the upper left and choose New Task (Run…)
- In the new window type explorer.exe and press OK (see the image below)
